About Me

ART DIRECTOR STORYTELLER TEACHER VETERAN

Who am I? I’m not too fond of that question. I think about it and remember all the roles I have performed up until this point. Before that, I remember who I was. I am just a kid playing in the white sand as waves crash over the beach—a kid born in Dallas, Texas, with seven siblings. A kid who drew his comic books, dug out G.I. Joe bases, told his own stories, sat out on a riverbank for hours with a cane pole,  and was good with science.

They told me I told stories a lot growing up. I realized that I was inventing fiction. Like most teens, I had my rebellious streaks, graduated high school, and went into the US Army. Up until that moment, I had never been on an aircraft or left the state. This event was a new grand adventure and a significant undertaking. I will never forget that first trip from Dallas, Texas to Fort Sil, Oklahoma, in a six-seat passenger aircraft that the turbulence made it feel like the wings could snap off at any moment. That was the beginning of the rest of my life in and outside of Texas.

I worked on tanks, LASERS, some misslies, and various degrees of ordnance or the machines that fired them in the military. Reading schematics and understanding the 3D world were unique on my part. This 3D visualization was thanks in part to my constant struggle with Dyslexia. Without that particular adversity, I may not be the person who sees the world as unique as I do. Getting this far with this many degrees has been a challenge.

After a brief stay in Boise, Idaho, I headed to Nashville, Tennessee. In Nashville, I discovered a love for cooking Italian food and worked as an assistant sous chef at Sambuca while putting myself through college. After earning two degrees and starting my freelance work under Steelewolfe Productions. I headed back to Texas. After arriving a few years, I realized that I needed an actual degree in Graphic Design. I went to Westwood College for a Bachelor’s in Visual Communications. I never looked back since.
